Forster reveals affection for Royals

Posted on: Sat 22 Mar 2008

Nicky Forster has spoken of his affection for the Royals ahead of this weekend's meeting with another one of his former clubs, Birmingham City.

Writing an exclusive article for the matchday programme, the striker said, "I loved every minute of my six years as a Reading player, and I think it is the football club that I will always look back on and regard as 'home'.

"I had my greatest successes as a player at Madejski Stadium, and I would probably regard my form during the 2002/3 play-off season as the best football I've ever played.

"Although I ultimately missed out on the promotion party when Reading reached the Premiership in 2006, I'd like to think that I played my part in getting the club to its current position, and that I gave good value for money during my time there.

"I feel I earned my place into the history of the club, and I'm glad that's the case because it's a fantastic club."

The full article from Fozzy, including more of his thoughts on the Royals and his views on this weekend's game, will be in the matchday programme, priced at £3.
